Providing Assessment & Individual Exercise Rehabilitation Classes

"Learn how to move again with stability and ease"

The exercise rehabilitation classes at Sydney Spine & Pelvis Centre combine the latest scientific knowledge about muscle re-education with our clinical experience in rehabilitation for people who have neck, shoulder and thoracic issues, and who want to regain movement and stability safely.

1. Lumbo-Pelvic Stability Retraining Classes

Stage 1 : Introduction to Core Control & Lumbo-Pelvic Retraining Classes

Stage 2 : Building Lumbo-Pelvic Muscle Endurance and Control

Stage 3 : Progressing Lumbo-Pelvic & Hip Muscle Strength and Endurance + Thoracic Control

Stage 4 : Advanced Lumbo-Pelvic-Hip Stability & Upper Body Conditioning

2. Thoracic & Scapula Stability Retraining Classes

Research has shown that specific muscles work to keep you stable as you sit, walk, stand and exercise. The deepest layer of muscles in you abdominal wall work together with deep back muscles and your pelvic floor to support the joints in your back and pelvis during every movement that you make. Unfortunately these muscles can stop working properly due to pain, injury or as a result of poor posture and work habits.  The way your body copes with this may actually cause more pain, stiffness, aching, and difficulty moving.

About Our Classes

Our small group classes have a maximum of 6 people and our beginners class is Stage 1: Introduction to Core Control & Lumbo-Pelvic Stability Retraining.  These exercise classes are designed to reinforce your awareness of strengthening and using your stabilising muscles correctly so that they support your back/pelvis in daily functions and then progress to show you how to safely increase your activity and endurance. The small group classes allow us to assist your recovery toward normal function or back to your sport at a speed that suits your needs.

The classes are designed as a block of 10 one hour classes. Each participant is asked to commit to all classes as the information given and exercises that are taught progress from week to week.

At the end of the 10 weeks, you may be strong enough to continue with a home exercise program, or you may wish to progress to our Stage 2: Building Lumbo-Pelvic Muscle Endurance and Control class which focuses on building core strength and endurance of your core muscle activity with gluteus maximus, gluteus medius, and back muscles.
