As the current Covid-19 outbreak continues to grow in Greater Sydney, it is likely that the current lockdown will continue for some time to come. As health practitioners, we at Sydney Spine and Pelvis Physiotherapy are concerned for the health and wellbeing of our patients in these challenging times.
Currently, we are aware of many scenarios that can make it difficult and/or impossible for our patients to attend the physiotherapy clinic for the treatment they need, including stay at home orders, home schooling duties, back-to-back Zoom meetings, and health reasons. In addition, NSW Health has regulated that only patients whose conditions are urgent should attend clinic in person.
While all of us continue to face uncertainty, we at Sydney Spine and Pelvis Physiotherapy are striving to remain consistently accessible as a source of support for you. There is still much we can do to help you with your pain, injury or disability when an in-person consultation is not possible. While we recognise that Telehealth is not suitable for every condition nor individual, Telehealth has been shown to be as effective as in person care for many conditions and offers access to support and effective continuation of your treatment plan. By meeting with you online, we can continue to progress many of the essential components of your treatment program by sharing advice and education about your condition, checking/modifying/progressing exercises, providing movement and posture training, load management plans, home gym modifications, running programs and more.
Our video consultations are provided via a simple and secure Telehealth platform developed specifically for the medical profession called Doxy.me. This platform allows us to provide high quality care:
